FEATURES AND FIXES
This is a custom build of dosbox that adds new features and fixes. The download contains a complete replacement for your existing dosbox installation. Click each section below for more information:
Transmit video and input data to/from compatible applications such as Grid Cartographer 4. Activate by running the special 'dosbox_gamelink' executable or by setting the output mode to output=gamelink, or by running DOSBox with -gamelink. It also provides a replacement for netpeek.
This replacement dosbox automatically fixes the reversed audio channels during cutscenes in Terra Nova: Strike Force Centauri.
This feature was developed for use with Grid Cartographer. It is a mechanism for sending bytes from emulated RAM over a UDP network connection. Grid Cartographer uses it to track player movements in compatible games. NOTE:It is better to use Game Link when running everything on the same computer.
The new setting wizpopfix was developed specifically for Wizardry 6 and 7 and reduces popping from the pc speaker sounds in those games.
To enable it add the line wizpopfix=6 or wizpopfix=7 respectively, below pcspeaker=true in the dosbox.conf file.
Set deadzone=%value% in the [joystick] section to a number from 0 to 99. This will set the percentage of physical movement (for both axes) needed before it registers in the game.
Alternatively use deadzone=100 to switch into a fake 'digital' mode where any physical movement over 50% counts as 100% in game, otherwise it's ignored.
This applies a secondary scaling to just the vertical component of the mouse, using a value from -1000 to 1000. I've had problems in a few games where the mouse doesn't move in a circle properly and generally feels weird (this often happens if you disable display aspect correction).
Set this up using the sensitivityaspect=%value% option in the [sdl] section. Good values for this are usually 120 or 150, but play around until it feels right. You could also use this with a negative value (-100 for default) to permanently invert the mouse which may be useful in some cases.
Make games look friendlier with a custom window title. Set the new configuration option windowtitle with text of your choice, or leave it blank to get standard behaviour.
• Automatic tracking-only version of Game Link is used by default when starting the regular executable.
• Fixed Game Link bug where tracking doesn't work if the screen isn't being updated (e.g. Dark areas in 'Might and Magic II').
• Added gamelinkmaster option to dosbox.conf which disables all Game Link features if set to false.
• Includes all official DOSBox changes up to SVN revision 4000.
• Added Game Link 2.0.
